Updates!

Wow...where do I begin!? It's been a couple months since I've updated my blog, partially because I forget, partially because I'm busy.

First things first..I'm officially an Auntie! William Patrick Tolson was born on November 21st! He must've been super excited to meet his Auntie and Grandpa & Grandma Benner because he arrived just in time for our Thanksgiving visit. It was great being able to be around him during the first days of his life and amazing how much he changed during the time we were there. I feel so lucky to be William's Auntie..it is a love like no other and I will always cherish the time I get to spend with him as he grows up..and of course will continue to spoil the heck out of him! It was a great family visit and I'm glad we were able to be there to help my sister and James out.

We celebrated a few things during our trip to Denver. William's birth, of course, my Dad's birthday, and an IU win over Purdue in the Bucket game! What a great week..I was sad to leave the Tolson clan and my lil' nugget, but am already looking forward to them being in town for Michelle's wedding in January!

On a different note, after a great 8 day trip to Colorado, I came home to my baby Bella having two herniated discs. The Vet said unfortunately in some breeds, herniated discs can't be avoided but Bella and I have been through a rough week or so. Bella had spinal surgery and due to that has faced some challenges. We are currently working on at-home physical therapy in hopes she will be able to walk again and resume her normal daily activties. Despite her set-back she has returned to her normal self (i.e. not listening to her mom, chewing on bones, eating lots of treats, and snoring at night). We've been blessed with the support of both my parents who have been with me from the first Vet appointment, to picking her up from surgery with me, to letting me stay at their house with her in her first couple days of recovery after surgery. Their physical and emotional support has made a HUGE difference in her recovery (and mine!). Please continue to keep us in your prayers as it could be 3-4 weeks before we will know if Bella will walk again.

Stay tuned for more updates on lil' William and Bella....
